Kozhikode: The Rural Innovators' Meet, organized by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) will begin in Kozhikode on Wednesday. The three-day meet will have the participation of innovators from rural areas across the state.
The meet will also offer rural innovators an opportunity to seek financial assistance from banks for developing their inventions and marketing their ideas.
An exhibition-cum-sale of rural products will also be held as part of the meet.
The rough skills of farmers, who devise their own technology for easing their work load, will be exhibited at the meet, said an official with KSCSTE. Research and development firms will also participate in the meet and this will provide rural researchers an opportunity to seek guidance on converting their small ideas into self-entrepreneurship units. The programme will be organized in association with Centre for Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development (C-STED).
The meet will be inaugurated by district collector N Prasanth at Jubilee Hall. L Radhakrishnan, chairman, Kerala State Innovation Council will be the guest of honour on the occasion. Dr N B Narasimha Prasad, executive director, Centre for water resources development and management (CWRDM) will deliver keynote address.
