The book 'Striking a Chord' showcases Pillai's experiences during his 'Goa Sampoorna Yatra' in which he visited all villages of the coastal state in 2022.
Sawant said Pillai has developed a bond with the people of Goa through his extensive visits.
"He interacted with common people and made efforts to provide financial assistance to the needy patients undergoing cancer treatment and dialysis. It is my honour to publish his 190th book in his home state and I'm sure that his writing will inspire many to serve the nation," he said.
Sawant said that he would like to congratulate Pillai for writing a book on Goa's traditional villages.
"He covered almost all 40 constituencies with MLAs and has understood the culture of Goa and is writing a new book on the culture of Goa," he added.
Sawant also inaugurated Remembrance Day observance of AK Sankara Menon, a freedom fighter from Koyilandy who participated in Goa Liberation Movement.
In his presidential address, Pillai said he had cordial relations with chief ministers wherever he was the governor.
"The chief minister is elected by the people and has their mandate while the governor is nominated by the President. The governor is the head of state and has powers. So I have always tried to cooperate with the government," he said, adding that he was talking about the situation in Goa and not Kerala.
