Family of UN employee killed in accident to get Rs 5 crore from insurance company
ALAPPUZHA: A Lok Adalath organized by the Kerala Legal Service Authority (KLSA) has settled a death case of an employee of United Nation with Rs 5 crore.
The insurance company on Wednesday agreed to allot the amount in the adalath led by Alappuzha Motor Accident Claims Tribunal judge Sophy Thomas. The case of film actor Jagathy Sreekumar was also settled above with Rs 5 crore in the state.
Raju Joseph, Kakkassery house, Sanathanapuram, Kalarkode and his brother Vavachan Joseph, 61, were killed after their two-wheeler rode by Vavachan was knocked down by an Audi car on AC Road. Raju was pillion rider and both died on the spot.
The amount was allotted to his wife Mariyamma, children Riya, Ricki and Rian. The adalath also settled the case of Vavachan with Rs 12 lakh.
