Facing threat from partner, says actor Anjali Ameer

KOZHIKODE: Transgender actor Anjali Ameer of ‘Peranbu’ fame has alleged that she is facing threat to her life and also threat of acid attack from her partner with whom she has been in a live-in relationship.
In a Facebook Live video, the former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant alleged that she was forced to be the a live-in relationship with the man and said that he threatened to kill her when she decided to breakup with him.
“I had put out a post against him when he first tried to cheat me. Now, he is telling that if I don’t live with him, he will kill me or will throw acid on my face,” she said.
She said that the Koduvally resident, who has been unemployed for the last one and a half years, owes her Rs 4 lakh and has been taking the money she earns.
Anjali, who was in tears in the emotional video, said that if something happens to her, then the man will alone be responsible for it. She said that he was exploiting her as she has no one to support her, including parents.
Anjali said that though she knows that talking about personal life on social media was not a good thing, she was doing so “out of her helplessness”.
Chevayoor police said that they had received a complaint from Anjali against the man two months back and when they summoned him to the police station, Anjali had told the police that they had reached a compromise and there was no need to proceed with the complaint.
“However, in the wake of the new development, we will talk to them and will look into the allegations,” Chevayoor police sub-inspector Nitheesh said.
