Elderly couple found hanging in Wayanad

KOZHIKODE: An aged couple was found hanging in the sit out area of their house near Perikkalloor in Mullankolly panchayat in Wayanad. The deceased have been identified as Chengazhasseri Karunakaran, 80, and his wife Sumathi,76.
The duo has been living with their unmarried daughter in their house at Pathiri. It was the daughter who found them hanging at Thursday midnight.Though the neighbours took the couple to the Pulpally community health centre, their lives could not be saved.
Pulpally police said that as per preliminary investigation the couple ended their lives as they were concerned about the health of their ailing younger daughter and about her treatment.
The couple had three daughters, two of whom had been married off. The youngest daughter was staying with them.
