KOZHIKODE: Union minister of state for external affairs
V Muraleedharan said the country will soon overcome the current growth slowdown.
Inaugurating the new office of Beypore Farmers Welfare Cooperative Society at Naduvattom on Tuesday, he said that the minor decrease in the growth rate was due to the country’s transition to a new financial system.
“Some are trying to portray the minor decrease in growth rate as a matter of serious concern.
Even countries which had registered the highest level of economic growth globally have witnessed sharp decline in their growth rates. But India is still in the path of growth and development,” he said.
Later, Muraleedharan presented the Malappuram P Moosa Award, instituted by the Senior Journalists Forum- Kerala, to chairman of Comtrust Charitable Trust KKS Nambiar at a function held at the K P Keshava Menon Hall. tnn
