BSF inspector's death: Police team to extend probe to Bihar and UP
KOZHIKODE: Police team investigating the murder of Border Security Force (BSF) Inspector Ram Gopal Meena is groping in the dark even eight days after the incident. The accused in the case Umesh Prasad Singh is still in the hiding and the officials are yet to receive any clue about the hiding place of the accused.
The police team investigating the death of BSF inspector are now planning to extend investigation to nearby states and to Uttarpradesh, Bihar and Rajastan.

The police are planning to seek the assistance of police from nearby states following the escape of the man.
The police team will leave for other states after the counting day. Hectic duty of the police persons on account of election and counting also hindered investigation.
Investigation is progressing and we hope to net the accused in a few days, said an official with the investigation team.
Ram Gopal Meena, a BSF inspector hailing from Rajastan was allegedly shot dead by his subordinate Umesh Prasad Singh around 11.30 pm at the temporary camp at Kottakkal. The police team has been carrying out search operations in and around the district from Thursday night. Though they received an information that the man boarded a truck and escaped, the police are yet to confirm this information also.
The accused person has left his uniform, bullets, rifle and mobile phone at Iringal making it a tough task for the police to track him.
