KOZHIKODE: BJP national vice-president
AP Abdullakutty
has alleged that there was an attempt to attack him at Malappuram while he was going to Kannur from
Thiruvananthapuram on Friday early morning.
Abdullakutty said a lorry hit the back side of the car at Randathani in
Malappuram district
. “The truck hit the car twice,” he told reporters. The driver said the incident happened as he was asleep, but there is strong suspicion, Abdullakutty said.
He said that there was another incident at Veliyamkode in Malappuram district on the same day. Two persons advanced towards him menacingly after identifying him, Abdullakutty said. Police have registered cases in connection with the two incidents.
Meanwhile, BJP state president
K Surendran
said there is a conspiracy behind the incident. He demanded a detailed inquiry into the incidents. BJP will observe protests all over the state on Friday, he said.
Abdullakutty, who hails from Kannur, was nominated as the national vice-president of the party recently. He was with the CPM earlier but changed sides to join the Congress. He joined the BJP around one year ago and was the state vice-president of the party.
