ALAPPUZHA: A mini truck carried banned tobacco products of Rs 60000 was seized by Muhamma police on Wednesday evening. Three men were also taken in custody in connection with it.

The Muhamma sub-inspector C C Prathapachandran said they have taken a shop owner Sunil, 48, Puthenparambil, Muhamma and truck driver Devanandan, 46, Padinjarekattunkal, Kommady, Alappuzha and his helper Prakassan, 50, Kombathuparambu, Eravukadu, Alappuzha into their custody.

"The truck driver and his helper were brining the banned tobacco products from Alappuzha to the shop of Sunil at Muhamma. The mini truck is belonged to Moosa Traders of Alappuzha. They concealed the tobacco products under the grocery items in the mini truck," said Prathapachandran.
