Raveendran inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebrations of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) at a function held here on Saturday. Rajya Sabha member M P Veerendra Kumar, MLA M K Muneer, Kashyapa Ashramam founder Acharya M R Rajesh, Dr K G Raveendran and others were present at the occasion.
P R Krishnakumar, managing director of the AVP Group, said it was a historic occasion for AVP as it completed 75 years in the field of ayurveda. "Today, AVP is striding ahead with renewed vigour and confidence in its quest for excellence in ayurveda," he said.
Febrojith, a new proprietary product from the company for effective medicine for management of pyrexia, was launched on the occasion. A book on the founder of AVP 'PV Rama Varier Vyakthiyum Vaidyanum' was released at the function. The book is a collection of articles by eminent personalities on Varier.
Acharyas, students of AVP Gurukula, doctors, agencies and employees were felicitated as part of the celebrations.

AVP Group MD Krishnakumar was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India considering his role in the propagation of the ancient system of medicine.
