Arrested RSS worker alleges police torture, approaches NHRC

KANNUR: RSS worker

Subeesh E

, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of CPM worker

K Mohanan

at Valankichal in the district on October 10, has moved the

National Human Rights Commission

(NHRC), the CBI and also JFCM Court in Koothuparamba alleging brutal torture on the part of the police to make him give false statements with the aim of saving the accused in

Fasal murder case

and also to implicate some more people in the

Pavithran murder case

.

According to Subeesh, resident of Chembra in Mahe, who is in judicial remand following his arrest on November 19, he has no role in the murder of Mohanan and the police falsely implicated him in the case with some ulterior motives. He also told his party colleagues that there had been a campaign against him for quite some time and he had brought this to the attention of the DGP in Puducherry a few months back.

Personally naming two police officers, the BJP worker said their intention was to create false evidence in Fasal murder case in which the CBI has already filed the chargesheet against the CPM leaders.

Also, the police wanted to get the statement that he and his associates were involved in the murder of Pavithran and Mohanan, said the complaint.

In the complaint to the CBI, he asked the investigating agency to initiate legal proceedings against the two police officers, too. In his plea before the court, Subeesh said he has not confessed anything before the police as appeared in the media reports.

Following these reports the CPM said that what the party had said earlier has proved right. Also, the police have decided to conduct further probe into the Pavithran murder case after the court stopped the trial proceedings following a plea by the police.
