KOZHIKODE: The
Anti-Gail Pipeline Campaigners
will continue protest until the GAIL and government assure about speeding up the implementation of the
compensation package
and completing the
disbursal of amount
before starting the work.
“We will not stop the protest programmes until the government and GAIL implement the revised compensation and announced rehabilitation package for small land holders,” said Cheriya Mohammed.
“The action committee is not against the Gas pipeline project,” cleared the action committee leader.
The action committee meeting also decided to continue the protest until chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan holds talks with the land owners. The CM is trying to avoid talks with the land owners, they alleged.
The anti-Gail campaigners have decided to strengthen the protest against the pipe laying work. The plan is to obstruct work in densely populated areas by ensuring the participation of the people’s representatives and local body heads of the respective areas.
The state committee leaders of Anti-Gail campaigners, during a meeting convened at Malabar Chamber Hall, here on Sunday decided to ensure the participation of local body heads at the upcoming protest at Nellikkapparambu near Eranhimavu.
