5.3 kg Ganja seized in Kuttippuram

MALAPPURAM: Kuttippuram police seized 5.3 kilogram ganja and arrested one person on Wednesday. The arrested person has been identified as Sadiq, 39, native of Koottayi near Padinharekkara.
According to Kuttippuram police the person was taken into custody from bus waiting shed in Kuttippuram bus stand around 1pm on Wednesday. Three packets of Ganja was seized from his bag. Police said that the substance was smuggled from Chennai for retail distribution across Malappuram district. Police are also examining the connection of the person with the ganja rackets which are active in distributing substance among school and college students in the district.
