15-year-old drowns in pond in Mlpm

KOZHIKODE: A 15- year- old boy drowned in a pond at Vengara in Malappuram on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Shahan, son of Saithalavi of Puzhakkalakath House, Koyamkulam at Chettippadi.

Shahan went to take bath in Ekkarakulam pond with his friends at around 1pm and drowned while playing in the waters, said Vengara police. Local residents rushed him to the Tirurangadi hospital but he was pronounced brought dead.
