Woman constable 'hangs' self

MIDNAPORE: A newly-recruited woman constable, Rupali Chakraborty, 23, was found hanging at her in-law's house in Midnapore town on Monday night.
On Tuesday, her parents lodged a police complaint accusing Rupali's husband Ayan and his family members of beating their daughter to death and then hanging her body to pass it as suicide. They alleged that Ayan, 26, and his parents started torturing her soon after their marriage in February this year.
Acting on the complaint, police arrested Ayan on Tuesday. Rupali's autopsy was also done on Tuesday.
According to the police, the autopsy report will reveal whether Rupali Chakraborty committed suicide or was murdered.
