Teacher's Meet at the Park Plaza on November 17. The invitees were greeted with firkis, the multi-coloured paper wheels which move with the wind.This wheel went on to became the symbol of the session which was all about transformation, change, teaching and leadership. InspirEd 2016 was organized in association with Park Plaza, JIS Group Educational Initiatives, Savlon and Kaweco.

, minister of state for women and child welfare and social welfare, was the chief guest at the gathering of educators from schools that included DPS Newtown, DPS Megacity , Lakshmipat Singhania Academy , Army Public School Barrackpore, Army Public School Ballygunge Military Camp, Birla High School, DPS Megacity , South City International School, BDMI, Apee jay Schools, DPS How rah, Calcut ta Interna tional School, Sushila Birla Girls' School, Sri Sri Academy , The Heritage, Jewish Girls' School, Shri Shikshayatan and MP

Birla Foundation HS School

among others. Panja dwelt at length on the discrimination between boys and girls that still exists among the poor classes where education is a luxury , not a priority.

She also talked about the problem of dropouts, especially among girls, after the upper primary level among the less privileged. Praising The Times of India's `Each One Teach One' campaign, she pointed out that being a teacher today is a great challenge and she was grateful or the part teachers play in the ives of students.

Guest speaker Professor

Anindya Sen

shared his views on teaching and leadership.

Sen teaches economics at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, has only taught postgraduate or college students and said he felt rather apprehensive addressing an audience who were shaping the future of the nation.

After a Q&A session, the teachers were given a presentation of the digital revolution which TOI has created with the ormal launching of the NIE website. The digital version complements the newspaper and will go hand in hand to enrich the knowledge of the students.

The teacher's meet ended on an innovative note with a representative of the student community thanking all the teachers present for their noble work.
