West Bengal to celebrate Golden Jubilee Year of International Literacy Day

KOLKATA: The state mass education extension and library services department will celebrate the golden jubilee year of International Literacy Day on September 8 at Rabindrasadan. State panchayat and rural development and public health engineering minister Subrata Mukherjee will deliver the inaugural lecture on the occasion.

On the occasion a rally with over 1000 participants will also be organised on the same day by minister of state (independent charge) of state mass education and library services department Siddiqullah Chowdhury from Esplanade.

Other ministers like state bio technology department, science and technology department, statistics and programme implementation department minister Ashis Banerjee, child and women welfare department minister of state (independent charge) Sashi Panja, state technical education, training and skill development department minister of state Asima Patra and minister of state of minority affairs and madrasa education department Giasuddin Molla will also remain present in the programme.
