The TMC's performance, if sustained until the final results, would mark its second-best showing in the state since the 2014 elections, where it secured 34 seats.

Prior to the 2024 election, exit polls had projected substantial gains for the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. Notably, two exit polls, namely Matrize and Jan Ki Baat, had allocated 21-25 and 21-26 seats to the BJP, respectively. The incumbent Trinamool Congress, having suffered significant losses in the 2019 elections, might experience a further decline in its seat tally in this election.

West Bengal, along with Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, was among the three states where the Lok Sabha elections were conducted across all seven phases.
