KOLKATA: BJP brass wants its Bengal unit to launch a counter-offensive against Trinamool’s “political vendetta” campaign that the Trinamool Congress has started amid central investigating agencies’ probes into the various alleged corruptions of the Bengal government.
Party functionaries, MLAs and MPs present at BJP’s training workshop being held at Vedic Village were asked to reach out to every household and explain to people how the TMC was using the “political vendetta” campaign as a shield.
This comes after senior functionaries Sunil Bansal and Amit Malviya took note of the speeches of chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress national secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday.
Bengal BJP functionaries held that the training session was a pointer to the fact that the party hadn’t let go of its political hope in the state even after a big slump in the party’s vote share in 2021 assembly polls (38.13%) compared to its 2019 Lok Sabha poll numbers (40.3%).
MLAs and MPs were asked at the workshop to undertake vigorous public outreach programmes and unify party cadre at grassroots, to emerge as a viable alternative to the TMC in the state.
