Voting delayed as EVMs break down
KOLKATA: Snags in electronic voting machines (EVMs), several of them happening right at the beginning of the poll day, led to voting delays in several booths with a few elderly voters being forced to return home, unable to stand in the heat till replacement arrived an hour or more later.
Though residents had lined up at the booth at Naktala High School even before polling started at 7am, the first vote could be cast only around 8.30am, when the
At South City College off Golpark, voting began half an hour behind schedule at 7.30am, also due to an EVM snag. Similar glitches at the start of voting were reported from Agarpara municipality health centre, Saroj Basu School on Dum Dum Mall Road and Rabindrapalli AP School near Kestopur. At Bamanpara Bazaar in Gobra, an EVM developed a

Multiple instances with the EVMs have come to light. Let me state just a few....disappearance of 20 lakh units after these were sent to the EC by ECL and ECIL, disappearance of 300 plus units after voting in Kalyan, hundreds of EVM being transported to election venues without any documentation with no action taken by the security, a concerted failure of the units in Kolkata that is most suspect, and multiple complaints of illegal strong room entries are some of the cases that seriously point out towards fraud and criminal collusion. This election like the last one in 2014 is rigged and the truth will surface on the 23rd. There is already open display of frustration in Varanasi and most of UP, Bihar and Bengal against the BJP and it is rumored that Modi is trailing big time in votes and so are Amit Shah, Sambit Patra and Rajnath Singh. It is also rumored that widespread tampering of EVMs has occurred in Gujarat. I hope the truth surfaces soon enough. This pariah government should be defeated and the country be made to realize the illegality of this government and its open violation of the constitution and Model Code of Conduct in ways that are unprecedented in India''s history.Read allPost comment
