KOLKATA: Actor
Vikram Chatterjee has been hospitalised. The actor, who has been in the news following the death of model Sonika Singh Chauhan, was admitted to a South Kolkata nursing home after he complained of high temperature.
Vikram, who was arrested on the night of July 6 after being charged with culpable homicide in Sonika’s death case, was granted bail on July 26 by the Alipore district sessions and district court.
He was granted bail against Rs 50,000 (Rs 25,000 local and Rs 25,000 in surety). Anik Datta’s ‘Meghnadh Bodh Rahasya’ starring Vikram was released when the actor was lodged in prison.
Said actor Oindrilla Sen, “I had received a call from Vikram’s mother. She told us that Vikram was hospitalised because his temperature had suddenly shot up to 105°C. Thankfully, Vikram hasn’t tested positive for dengue. I wish him a speedy recovery and sincerely hope that he soon tides over the crisis in his life.”
When TOI tried to get in touch with Vikram, his personal phone was switched off. His father, who was at the nursing home, passed on the phone to the actor. “I was hospitalised on Friday because of very high temperature. My temperature had shot up to the range of 104°C-105°C. I have started recovering but am still very weak. I hope to be home soon,” Vikram said.
