'Had CM Mamata Banerjee acted against Sandip Ghosh in 2021': What RG Kar doctor's parents said after SC hearing
Kolkata: After the Supreme Court’s hearing on R G Kar rape-murder case on Tuesday, the parents of the 31-year-old second-year PGT doctor from the hospital said that they watched the entire proceedings on TV and that they have faith in the law as well as the Supreme Court.
The victim’s father said, “I have 100% trust that the apex court will ensure a fair resolution.

However, we are not happy with the administrative changes. We want justice for our daughter. Those who have tampered with the evidence of her murder are being arrested one by one. Everyone involved in this incident should be punished. Victory will be achieved the day my daughter gets proper justice.”
Reacting to the removal of the Kolkata Police Commissioner and other top police officials, the father said, “I have only one thing to say, everyone directly or indirectly involved in this incident, those involved in tampering with the evidence, should be brought under probe and everyone should be punished.”
On the the arrests of Abhijit Mondal, OC of Tala police station, and Sandip Ghosh, ex-principal of R G Kar Hospital, by the CBI for destruction of evidence, the parents expressed satisfaction.
“If such action against Ghosh had been taken by our chief minister in 2021 when several allegations of corruption had been raised against him, we would not have had to lose our daughter,” the victim’s mother said. The parents emphasized that their claims of an effort to destroy evidence have been validated by the arrests of the duo in connection with their daughter’s rape and murder.
“From day one, we have been saying this, and the SC brought it up in the hearing as it becomes difficult for an agency to find evidence when it is tampered with,” the father said.
The parents also claimed that they had wanted their daughter’s body to be preserved and did not want her body to be cremated.
