KOLKATA: Five accidents were reported across the city in seven hours between Friday evening and Saturday morning, in which two persons were killed and four others were seriously injured.

Around 10.20pm, a truck hit a two-wheeler near the eastern slope of Bridge number 4. Biker Asish Gorai (26) died at the spot while pillion rider Md Naushad (30) was severely injured. The truck driver was arrested. At CGR Road-Hyde Road crossing, Md Alam Khan (48) was killed when a truck hit his scooterette around 1.30am. Around 12.30am near Bansdroni Bazar, biker Abhishek Acharya (27) was hit by a vehicle. Bandana Das Chowdhury (62) was injured after falling off a bus near Jadavpur 8B stop around 7.50pm on Friday. In another accident, pedestrian Arnab Roy (54) was seriously injured when he was hit by a chartered bus on Maniktala Main Road while crossing the road.
