KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress on Thursday accused governor Jagdeep Dhankhar of toeing the RSS line with party secretary general Partha Chatterjee attaching a screenshot of a Twitter post by the governor, which was originally shared by a Twitter handle named RSS Sudhir.
Dhankhar’s post, which TMC claims has now been edited, does not show the sender’s Twitter handle.

Raj Bhavan did not comment on this.
Dhankhar, tagging chief minister Mamata Banerjee, alleged in his post that the “internal security environment” is “alarming with ‘al-Qaeda’ finding WB safe haven and free run for illegal bomb making”.
The post also took a dig at the state’s top security advisers. This post had two attachments. The first appears to be a note dated November 14, which mentions that the governor has flagged his concerns on law and order to state chief secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay on October 5. The note indicates that Raj Bhavan’s assessment is based on the Manish Shukla murder case and the Beliaghata blast.
The other part of the note, however, seeks information on the state’s security advisers and a senior police officer. This Twitter post also attached the appointment letter of Rina Mitra, who after retiring as special secretary (internal security), Union home ministry, took up the assignment of Bengal government’s principal secretary (internal security). To harp on this, the governor in another post said: “Why not be transparent with performance of these super bosses and enforce accountability,” questioning the reported delay in sharing the information sought.

Chatterjee, also a senior state cabinet minister, replied on Twitter within hours. He wrote, “As a governor of any Indian state, one is expected to be a detached figure, not intimately connected with the local politics of the state. And then we have @jdhankhar1 ji, who, under @BJP4India’s thumb, directly takes orders from RSS!”
Chatterjee also attached the note and the appointment letter shared by the governor in his Twitter post. The appointment letter clearly indicated it has been shared by a handle called RSS Sudhir, which was subsequently shared.
Barasat MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, too, posted on Twitter, saying: “As a Governor, you are supposed to be unbiased towards the state’s politics. @jdhankhar1 ji, clearly, you have no respect for a constitutional office. Your heavy biases are now out in the open for everyone to judge!” MoS labour Md Golam Rabbani even questioned who RSS Sudhir is.
