He not only taught me how to play the game, but also helped me develop this sportsman spirit, which is essential for any player. He was an institute, a living knowledge hub on cricket. He was my guiding light and that’s how I will always remember Gopal sir,” said Laxmi, adding, “He never tried to impose ideas on me and helped me develop my own style. He was always there to make me and my co-players play better. He used to say that everything has a science behind it. Whether we sleep, eat or play, there is surely a scientific purpose for it. His golden words will be remembered.”
