Kolkata:
Kolkata Traffic Police has suggested different time slots for dispersal of students during the
monsoon to prevent crowding of buses and cars in front of school gates. Such a system is followed at Modern High School on
Syed Amir Ali Avenue. Cops said since students need to be picked up near the gates to prevent them from getting drenched, different timings are being proposed so that all vehicles don’t arrive at the same time.
“By the time bus lines get formed, individual guardians can pick up children and leave,” an officer said.
On Monday, school traffic stretched up to 3.15 pm around Park Street“We’ve spoken to KMC, school authorities and firms to help us set up sheds on pavements,” an officer said.
