Seminar on the role of media

KOLKATA: Journalists should know their beat well before asking any question, said PWD minister Kshiti Goswami while speaking at a seminar on the role of media on Tuesday. It was organized by the All India Media Persons' Welfare Association and the South 24-Parganas Journalists' Association.
Journalists should be properly trained before interviewing people, said Goswami.Land and land reforms minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah admitted that often, camera crew are attacked, which should not happen. The other speakers were J K Saraf, honorary consul of Chile, and neurosurgeon R P Sengupta.
Awards were given to Ramesh Gandhi, Dr Helgo Meyerhamme, Shibabrata Roy, Mahafuzur Rahaman and Atiya Mushtaq.
