Sealdah attacker dies in hospital

KOLKATA: KOLKATA: The man, who stabbed a woman on a busy Sealdah platform on Saturday before turning the knife to himself, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning. While Gautam Ghosh (42) was admitted to NRS Hospital in a critical condition, the woman — Asha Ghosh — bled to death within minutes.
Investigation revealed that Ghosh (32), a resident of Garia Station Road, used to work as a domestic help in Girish Park area.Gautam, a resident of Girish Park and an employee of a jewellery house, reportedly developed intimacy with Asha who was estranged with her husband.
But of late, their relationship turned bitter, with Asha showing little interest in taking it forward. On Saturday they met at Sealdah platform when Asha was about to board her train to Garia. “After talking to Asha for quite some time, Gautam suddenly pulled out a dagger and stabbed her from behind,” said sources.
