Jalpaiguri: Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) leader Debraj

Dibakar

, the “spiritual son” of

KLO

chief Jiban Singha, came down heavily on chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Koch leader Ananta

Roy

over their recent “bonhomie”.
Dibakar said Banerjee was trying to “divide” the Rajbanshi community spread over West

Bengal

and Assam. Dibakar had been mediating talks with the Union government with the help of the Assam government for a greater space for Koch-Kamta people in the area.
Roy, the uncrowned maharaj of Rajbanshi community in Cooch Behar, was also a part of the effort when he was in exile in Assam.
The KLO leader said Roy was “bowing” to the Bengal government’s pressure and making a compromise with the Bengal CM to get cases the state initiated against him lifted.
