RG Kar Medical College and Hospital orders probe into docstora brawl in operation theatre

KOLKATA: The Rogi Kalyan Samity (RKS) at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has ordered a probe after two doctors allegedly got into a scuffle inside the orthopaedic operation theatre on Friday evening.

Sourav Kanti Sil (48), a resident of Birbhum, who had suffered elbow injury after falling from his cycle, was undergoing a surgery when the incident happened. One of the doctors had reportedly fixed two screws - which were of incorrect size - into the man's elbow and this infuriated the other doctor. There was an altercation between the two doctors who were involved in a scuffle in front of the patient. "We are looking into the matter. An action will be taken up if it is found true," said Trinamool Congress MLA Sudipto Roy who is the hospital's RKS chairman.
