KOLKATA: The
CBI on Monday continued its interrogation of senior Kolkata Police officers to determine the sequence of events that unfolded at
RG Kar Hospital on Aug 9.
The CBI had earlier requested the head of the Kolkata Police
SIT, which was investigating the RG Kar rape and murder, to provide specifics of the protocol adhered to while registering the "unnatural death (UD)" case.
According to CBI sources, Vidit Raj Bhundesh, the deputy commissioner of Kolkata Police's detective department (special), who spearheaded the SIT and had questioned the main accused Sanjay Roy multiple times, met the CBI officers at the CGO Complex on Sunday.
CBI sources divulged that the inquiries directed towards the deputy commissioner pertained to the methodology employed by Kolkata Police in documenting the "UD case". The Kolkata Police had furnished the SOP and highlighted how every stipulation in the manual was meticulously adhered to. Thus far, approximately 90 witnesses, including 14 Kolkata Police officers, have been interrogated by the CBI.
