Reliance Jio 5G reaches Sikkim

Kolkata: With the launch of Reliance Jio True 5G services in Gangtok by Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang on Sunday, the cellular services major completed its fifth-generation (5G) telephony expansion across all the states in the country.Speaking at the event, the Sikkim CM said, “As 5G services being operational in the state, network connectivity will improve in every village, GPU and school in Sikkim. We aim to integrate technology in the newly formed districts of Soreng and Pakyong, and the launch of the 5G services will ease the process of transformation and adoption.”Tamang lauded Jio for becoming one of the few cellular service providers to be able to expand its network like this within a short period. “I hope they will continue to build on it,” he added.Commenting on the occasion, a Jio Spokesperson said, “Soon, Jio True 5G network will be present across the length and breadth of Sikkim. By December 2023, every district, town and tehsil in Sikkim will have Jio’s True 5G services.” Jio users of Gangtok can now get the Jio Welcome Offer.
