Privilege motion against Hiran

Kolkata: The state assembly saw a privilege motion being tabled against BJP MLA Hiran Chatterjee by finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya on Thursday for accusing her of making false statements. Speaker Biman Banerjee accepted the privilege motion.The issue pertained to Chatterjee's statement that the state govt paid money to get the Skoch award.Bhattacharya said that the Bengal govt didn't need to pay a bribe and the Rs 11.3 lakh that was paid was the participation fee. There was receipt for the money, the minister added.
