Premier schools ahead in ICSE

KOLKATA: City students were jubilant over their ICSE and ISC exam results on Wednesday.
The premier institutions have all fared well with toppers scoring 94 per cent and above. A survey among the top city schools revealed that as many as 48 students got above 90 per cent marks. The exact figures are not available as ICSE does not bring out a merit list.
From St James School, Rahul Sanghvi and Sourabh Nair scored 95 per cent in ICSE.In ISC, Samudra Dasgupta topped the school with 96 per cent marks.
At Don Bosco Park Circus, Rahul Biswas and Krishna Kumar Mehera got 94.4 per cent and 94.5 per cent marks respectively. The topper at Loreto House scored 94.8 per cent in ICSE and 10 girls scored above 90 per cent. The school, however,would not divulge the topper’s name.
Sahail Poddar, with 94.6, scored the highest among the ICSE candidates from La Martiniere for Boys and Rahul Gadhyan with 94.2 per cent the highest among ISC examinees.
With 93.2 per cent marks, Shilpa Gourisaria was Calcutta Girls’ High School topper, while Debopriya Banerjee and Debanjali Sinha shared the honours in ICSE, both scoring 93 per cent marks.
St Xavier’s has performed well once again. S. Burman topped the ICSE chart with 95 per cent, while A.K. Bhargav topped the ISC list with 95.7 per cent marks.
