Kolkata: More than a week after the death of
television actor Pallavi Dey
at her rented accommodation at
Garfa
, sleuths spoke to some of her co-actors, as well as contacted the producer and director of the serial Pallavi was working in and which, according to her live-in partner
Sagnik Chakraborty
, was coming to an end. Sagnik, who had been arrested, had claimed that Pallavi was worried about her future.
The cops wanted to crosscheck some of Sagnik’s claims, including an almost hour-long call with Pallavi that she had made a week before her death, after meeting a couple of people from the industry.
“We have found Sagnik was making a lot of money recently and had used the same to reroute a part of it through his father’s accounts. A good amount of it was reinvested in buying the Rajarhat flat where the couple wanted to settle. The findings will be produced in court in due time,” stated an officer. Cops though remained tightlipped on whether any dealings involving Sagnik were completed in bitcoins.
The postmortem report clearly stated that it was death due to suicide. Police questioned Sagnik from Wednesday evening till late into the night about his sources of income. Two of his colleagues too recorded their statements.
