The 40-year-old patient, who received the heart, is recovering at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. According to the doctors, the patient of dilated cardio-myopathy is now out of danger. Similarly, two recipients of kidneys — a 47-year-old admitted at CMRI and another 59-year-old admitted at

Apollo

— are also doing well.

“The patient is doing well but he might need a few sessions of supportive

dialysis

,” said Sandip Bhattacharya of CMRI, who is treating the 47-year-old patient, said. Mohon Seal of Apollo, who is treating the 59-year-old kidney recipient, was positive about his patient’s health status.

Doctors at SSKM said the liver recipient — a patient of

cirrhosis

of liver — was taken out of ventilation and he’s now out of danger. “He is under observation and is showing signs of improvement,” an SSKM doctor said.
