): NTPC, Farakka has taken up an initiative to utilise

ash as pesticides in paddy production. Fly ash has been a major problem as locals were annoyed as the waste asheswere piled into two ash ponds at

Malancha

and Nishindra villages.

, executive director,

NTPC-Farakka

said, “We found that UP farmers used fly ashes and received more production. We are also starting this pilot programme with the help of agri-experts. NTPC will seek help from state agriculture technicians too. We will discuss with the farmers on Wednesday.“
