Kolkata: The name of the US-based co-producer will be removed from the poster of a movie starring
Swastika Mukherjee.The co-producer was embroiled in a controversy regarding the actor’s morphed nude photos. The incident followed a dispute over the film’s marketing and promotion.
On Tuesday, co-producer of the film, Ajanta Sinha Roy, sent an email to her US-based co-producer Sandeep Sarkar, Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA) and Swastika’s manager Shristi Jain.
In the mail, she mentioned the chronological order of events since March 8 when Ravish Sharma allegedly sent the derogatory mail with “objectionable photos” and threatened to post them online. Sinha Roy also mentioned that “such actions need to be strongly condemned…”
EIMPA president Piya Sengupta told TOI: “We received this letter on Tuesday. Sandeep Sarkar’s name will not feature when this film is sent to the Central Broad of Film Certification.”
