NIA seeks Ram Navami clash records
Kolkata: National Investigation Agency on Wednesday sought from state police the documents and footage related to the Ram Navami clashes in Howrah and Hooghly. Calcutta High Court had last week ordered an NIA probe into the violence at Shibpur in Howrah and Rishra in Hooghly, in response to a PIL filed by leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari. The court had also directed Bengal police to transfer all records related to the matter to the agency.A copy of NIA’s letters to the Chandannagar Commissionerate and Howrah police was also sent to CID, which has been investigating the case since April 27. tnn
