Mukul's comment/HC hearing to be added before editing
KOLKATA: On a day BJP leader Mukul Roy moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail, the Sarsuna police arrested his close aide Babban Ghosh for allegedly seeking Rs 46 lakh from a businessman to get him a membership in the highest bodies of the Railways. Babban - now the leader of BJP's Majdoor Sangh - was arrested from his

residence early on Tuesday.

"We have arrested Babban in the graft case after a probe into a complaint filed by businessman Santu Ganguly. We will question him about the role of others in this case," said DC (

) Nilanjan Biswas. Ghosh was charged under several sections of IPC including cheating and criminal conspiracy. Ganguly in January had alleged that he was instigated to pay the amount in instalments when Roy was the Union railway minister.

Roy's move in the HC comes in the wake of a recent arrest warrant in forgery a case in which four other persons have been arrested. The HC had earlier stayed a Bankshall court arrest warrant in the case against Roy.
