MSC notch up fifth victory

Kolkata: Mohammedan Sporting notched up their fifth win in the ongoing Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division, beating Food Corporation of India (FCI) 3-1 at their home ground on Tuesday. They have so far accumulated 15 points from six matches, which includes a loss too.Midfielder Tanmoy Ghosh opened the scoring for Mohammedan Sporting in the 29th minute. The home team dominated the proceedings and in the 36th minute, they went further ahead when FCI’s Deep Bag conceded an own goal.With a 2-0 cushion going into the break, Sporting cannot be blamed for being complacent. With FCI reducing the margin in the 53rd minute, Sporting would have jarred out of their slumber, if they were in one. Lalhlansanga retaliated with a goal in the 53rd minute and the home team ensured the scoreline remained that way till the end. tnn
