Bankura: Climber Subhas Pal's body was accompanied by people in at least 50 mini trucks and toto vans in Bankura on Wednesday. The body of pal had reached the Bankura Police Ground at 11.30 PM on Tuesday night evening and was kept there through out the night.

On Wednesday morning, the coffin was brought to the ground in front of his house at Saradapally in Gobinda nagar of Bankura town. Pal's ten year old daughter Sushmita put a garland on his father's coffin. The class-V student too, wishes to become a mountaineer like her father. and become a Bachendri Pal.

Later, his family members, relatives, one by one his father, mother, widow, brother, relatives, members of Bankura Exploration Nature Academy paid their respects. The district magistrate, Moumita Godara Basu, SP, Neelkanth Sudhir Kumar and many political leaders were present at the spot. sabhadipati , Arup Chakraborty, former minister, Partha Dey, Bankura MLA, Shampa Daripa , chairman of Bankura Municipality, Mahaprosad Sengupta etc were present.The SP and DM of Bankura gave gun salute to Pal. Hundreds of policemen from various divisions were present at the ground. From there, the body was taken to Bankura Municipality, where MP, Soumitra Khan, minister Shyamal Santra offered their condolences. From there the huge Hundreds took to the streets and ralled to the house of Pal at Gorub village. There also his students garlanded and saluted him.

Later, the body was taken to the banks of Dwarakeswar River, where the last rituals were made done. Around 3.15pm, he was cremated. Pronab Pal, his elder brother urged the high profile dignitaries to help Subhas Pal's family.

Arup Chakraborty, sabhadipati, bankura zilla parishad said, that the parishad will bear the educational expenses of his daughter. and the parishad will discuss about the job demand made by Pal's wife. The parishad plans to initiate talks about the job with the district magistrate and chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
