MALDA: Election is knocking on the door and there's no time to lose. That was the message from state fire services minister Pratim Chatterjee to eminent filmmaker Tarun Majumder, who had approached the talented politician to play the lead in his tele-serial, Durgeshnandini.
For the role of protagonist in an adaptation of the Bankim Chandra novel, Majumder had thought of Chatterjee, but with ensuing elections, the minister could not accept it.

However, the minister was not ready to miss the chance of working with Majumder. "I opted for a smaller role," he added.
