Mimi attends cabby identification parade

Kolkata: Actor and Jadavpur MP Mimi Chakraborty on Friday afternoon went to the Presidency Correctional Home and attended a 30-minute test identification parade for the taxi driver, Laxman Yadav, who allegedly harassed her near Ballygunge Phari 11 days ago. “As I am the complaint, I had to help police. I had to find time and come here to identify the accused. I have my statement at court and on Friday, I attended the TI parade,” Chakraborty said.
“We will place the charge sheet soon,” said an officer from the southeast division.Gariahat cops said Chakraborty’s identification, along with her statement, would make for crucial evidence. “We will now seek the court’s permission to record the statements of witnesses,” said an officer. tnn
