Kolkata: The city continued to remain in the grip of chill as the minimum temperature remained unchanged on Wednesday — 12.6°C. The Met officials have predicted a slow rise in the mercury from Thursday with a western disturbance (WD) about to intervene in the path of the northwesterly winds that have brought in the chill. The impact of the WD may be felt from Thursday onwards, said an official of
Regional Meteorological Centre
(
RMC
).
“We don’t expect rain in Kolkata but it could remain cloudy. There will be a rise in the minimum temperature and it could touch 15 degrees over the next 48 hours. The chill will disappear,” said RMC director
G K Das
