Kolkata: The city is set to get rain on Sunday, as the temperature rises. A cyclonic circulation, set to form over Jharkhand, could trigger rain in Kolkata and the coastal areas of the state, said the Met office. The maximum temperature could touch 30°C this weekend.
“The rain could be moderate and may last 30 minutes. Since the temperature has started rising, pre-monsoon rain and thunderstorms will now happen,” said RMC director G K Das.
Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 27.1°C and a minimum of 16.5°C on Thursday.
“It will continue to climb and may touch 30°C and 18°C, respectively, by the weekend,” said Das.
