Max 33.8°C, Kol to stay hot & humid for 5 more days

Kolkata: Scorching westerly and northwesterly winds kept Kolkata hot and humid on Sunday even as the maximum temperature slid marginally to 33.8°C. The Met office warned that warm and humid conditions will continue to prevail across most of south Bengal and Kolkata for the next five days, at least. Some places in the western districts of Purulia, Jhargram and Bankura received thunderstorms. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 28°C.Barring isolated, localised thunderstorms, south Bengal will not have any relief. Local clouds pulled the maximum temperature down marginally, said the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC). "These are not enough to trigger thunderstorms or rain. On April 25, we expect more intense thunderstorms in the western districts.
