"A dog is a man''s best friend and the dogs walk is our novel way to help generate maximum funds for tsunami victims," said Moitri Veterinary Clinic volunteer Yudhaditya Majumdar.
The veterinary clinic is organising a walk with dogs on January 9 as part of its commitment towards social services. It had organised a similar walk during the Gujarat earthquake and raised Rs 40,000. Hundreds of dogs ranging from Spitz, Boxer, Mongrel to Alsatian, and Labradors belonging to clients frequenting the veterinary clinic have been roped in. The dogs will walk from the clinic at Deshapriya Park to the Maidan grounds. It will move along Rash Behari Avenue, S.P. Mukherjee Road and Asutosh Mukherjee Road and Chowringhee.
"I feel honoured if my dogs can contribute towards this noble cause," stated dog owner Titir Banerjee. According to Majumdar, all the funds will be handed over to the CM''s Tsunami Relief Fund.
