Kolkata man molests girl and mom, arrested

KOLKATA: A Kasba traffic guard constable — along with his two sergeants — swiftly reacted to an SOS from a 33-year-old woman and her daughter when they raised an alarm after a pedestrian tried to molest them. The incident at the Ruby crossing on Wednesday afternoon led to the arrest of the accused. Cops from the Kasba police station have begun a case of molestation against the accused, Serabul Sheikh.
According to police, constable Biplab Paham, sergeants Suman Ghosal and Sujay Kumar Das were on duty at the spot around 4.30pm when the woman and her daughter were trying to cross Bypass.
“The accused took out his mobile and pretended to be absorbed in it. In the process, he allegedly groped the woman and tried molesting her daughter. When the woman raised an alarm, Paham immediately responded. He brought Sheikh to the Kasba traffic police booth and alerted Kasba police, who later arrested him,” said an investigating officer.
