KHEJURI (EAST MIDNAPORE): Bengal CM
Mamata Banerjee on Monday put the state on alert ahead of Hanuman Jayanti on Thursday, apprehending more attempts to foment trouble after the cycle of violence that started on Ram Navami.
"We all revere Bajrang Bali but they should not be allowed to plot more riots. Keep this in mind. They (miscreants) are doing this across the country," she said.
Banerjee said the state government had no objection to Ram Navami processions, but the same should have been taken out 'without guns and bombs'.
"The processions are entering minority pockets deliberately despite not being given permission and in spite of multiple alternative routes. And then you saw what happened. Even fruit trolleys are being damaged (because) they (Muslims) have fruits during Ramzan after fasting," she said.
